TropRockin’

It’s never been easier to listen to great TropRock/Island Music, the type of music that makes you feel like you’re on vacation whether you’re working at the office, going for a run or working on a project at home.

There are many online streaming radio stations affiliated with the TropRock Music Association, and every one has its own style and approach to playing the best Island music.

One of my favorites is TikiPod Radio, which plays a unique combination of TropRock, Reggae and Hawaiian artists. Here you will find some of my favorite artists, including Iam Tongi, Monallo, Mark Mulch, Zac Brown Band, Beach Fly, Mr. Myers, and so many more! In fact, this fall, TikiPod Radio featured our own Beach Maniac song, which at one point reached Number 6 on the Top 20 list!

Of course, the granddaddy of TropRock is Jimmy Buffett and you will hear plenty of him on most of these stations, mixed in with old and new Island music. But what sets these stations apart from the Margaritaville station on Sirius/XM radio is that while you get your fix of Jimmy, most of the music is from a mix of seasoned, new and upcoming TropRockers. It’s a genre that Jimmy started but many outstanding musicians and artists are taking to new heights as the genre enters a new era.

I will be writing a lot about the stations and artists who make up this uplifting genre of music. We will examine several of these TropRock stations. In the meantime, tell us about your favorite TropRock/Island Music stations and your favorite artists!
